D. Scott Monday
Scott has significant experience in all facets of residential and commercial development, specifically in design-build project delivery, land entitlements, insurance restoration and remodeling.
Scott is partners in three entities dedicated to improving the environments in which people live and work:
- Trinity Renovation, Inc. – a turn-key residential and commercial construction company.
- Trinity Ventures RE, LLC – a for-profit affordable housing development partnership.
- Zusti! – a new company specializing in residential service and maintenance.
Prior to founding his own businesses, Scott spent nearly eight years with Huff Construction of Modesto, CA, leading two separate divisions and implementing numerous new business elements. Scott’s highlights during his employment at Huff included:
- Directing Huff Facility Services, a division specializing in commercial tenant improvements, repairs and insurance restoration. This division completed over 300 projects over the course of three years, valued at over $8,000,000.
- Co-founding and directing Huff Signature Series, a division of Huff Construction specializing in design-build delivery of private commercial construction projects. During this time Scott gained significant additional experience in land entitlement and design project management, overseeing the design of over 40 projects in a two-year period.
- In addition to the above projects, Scott managed all contractual aspects of dozens of commercial construction projects, including over 35 projects totaling more than 500,000 SF of new construction and over $40,000,000 of total project revenue.
Prior to joining Huff Construction, Scott studied architecture, engineering and construction management at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, graduating with a BS in Construction Management in 2002. While in college, he was actively involved with both the Design-Build Institute of America and the Associated Students of Construction Management. Additionally, Scott was part of a team representing Cal Poly at the ASC Reno Competition in 2001.
In addition to his professional obligations, Scott, his wife Melissa and their two children are active members of CrossPointe Community Church, Modesto, serving as lay-leaders in the Young Marrieds & Young Families Ministry. Scott also is a member of The Modesto Rotary Club, CommonWealth Modesto and is involved with numerous other community-based projects.
Scott is also an accomplished endurance mountain biker, placing fourth in the 24-hours of Adrenaline World Championship (3-man team) in 2007 and 2nd in the 24-hours of Adrenaline 2008 Laguna Seca (2-man team).
