kitchenBOX FAQ
What is kitchenBOX?
KitchenBOX is a low-cost, high-quality kitchen remodel created by Trinity Renovation, Inc. Although Trinity Renovation loves building custom kitchen remodels (like this one!), clients on a strict budget were clamoring for an alternative. So we went to work finding the best combination of cost-effective materials while providing a completely new kitchen experience. Thus, kitchenBOX was born.
Where did the name kitchenBOX come from?
A key element of kitchenBOX is the speed. A standard kitchenBOX projects starts on Monday at 7AM and is completed by Friday at 5PM. We do this by placing a “job box” in front of the house during this time. This job box is pre-loaded with all the materials and equipment needed to complete the project. This saves us time (and you money) by eliminating the constant runs to supply houses.
What payment methods can I use for kitchenBOX?
Upon completion of your project, you can pay via check or credit card (small processing fee applies). We are also working with a local lender to offer a financing option, but as of now, check or credit card are the two accepted payment methods.
What is the timeline for payments? How much deposit is required?
A $1,000 deposit is required upon signing the work agreement. The balance is due within 10 days of project completion.
What’s included in the standard kitchenBOX project?
The standard kitchenBOX project includes:
- Granite countertops in one of 12 different colors.
- Granite backsplash. (Tile upgrade available)
- Transformation of stained cabinets to painted cabinets. (Or re-painting of already-painted cabinets)
- All new cabinet door and drawer hardware.
- Dual compartment Kohler kitchen sink.
- Sink faucet with pull-out sprayer. (Upgrades available)
- Badger 1/3 horsepower garbage disposal. (Upgrade to 1/2 HP and 3/4 HP available)
- New wall and ceiling paint.
What if I want to add things to my kitchenBOX project?
KitchenBOX offers an assortment of plumbing, appliance, cabinet hardware and paint options. However, significant changes to the standard kitchenBOX concept turn the project into a custom kitchen remodel. Trinity Renovation is more than happy to assist with a custom remodel (we do it all the time) but we can’t guarantee the low cost and quick turnaround of a kitchenBOX remodel.
I’ve heard kitchen remodels usually cost tens of thousands of dollars? Why is kitchenBOX so affordable?
KitchenBOX focuses on the low-cost, high-impact changes to your kitchen. So while you get a complete new look to your kitchen, kitchenBOX does not include moving walls or replacing cabinets. In our experience most people are content with the layout of their kitchen and the quality of the cabinets. They just want a new look and feel.
In addition, we do enough kitchen remodeling to buy in bulk and negotiate great prices from subcontractors and suppliers. You get to take advantage of this benefit by getting a lower cost job and a quicker remodel.
Is the kitchenBOX work guaranteed? For how long?
KitchenBOX comes with a one-year guaranty against construction defects. In addition, each manufacturer offers guaranties of variable lengths for each product. All warranty and guarantee information will be provided to you upon project completion in your Operations & Maintenance Binder.
How do I know if I’m a kitchenBOX candidate?
The ideal kitchenBOX candidate is a home built between 1980 and the present. Homes built during this time typically have a good kitchen layout but dated finishes, making them an ideal candidate for kitchenBOX. In addition, homes of this vintage usually have high-quality cabinets, making them ideal for a refinish as opposed to a costly replacement.
Will I have any access to my kitchen at all during the 7 day work period? What about the rest of my house, can I be there while the work is going on?
You will have access to your kitchen during the kitchenBOX remodel, but most if not all of the kitchen amenities will be removed from day one, rendering the kitchen useless for cooking. In addition, we will set up plastic sheets for dust control, so access into and out of the kitchen will be a bit inconvenient.
If your kitchen is the only passage between two parts of your home, we’ll be sure access is maintained as much as possible at all times.
What if you finish my project later than agreed upon?
Shame on us! If a delay is caused by our team or suppliers, we will gladly take $100 off the price of your remodel for every day we are late. (Please note, some upgrades are impossible to accomplish in the 7-day work window. We’ll notify you if this is the case well before your project starts.)
